1. Be flexible with dates

Flying midweek (Tuesday/Wednesday) is often cheaper than weekends. If your plans allow it, compare a few days in either direction.

If you live near more than one airport, or your destination has alternatives nearby, compare all of them — the price difference can be significant.

3. Book in the sweet spot, not too early or too late
